META Doing Away With Fact Checkers

Mark Zuckerberg announced that “fact checkers” are going away to “go back to our roots” and “restoring free expression” on their platforms.

He admitted to bowing to outside pressure in 2016 to bring in “independent” fact checkers and says it’s gone too far. Dana White has also joined the board at Meta, as they move to a “community notes” format adopted by X.
